The Research Library
The story of Rose O’Neill is tucked away in our research library
in letters, poems, shopping lists, land records, and photographs.
More than 20,000 pages of historical records are archived here. We
are currently working on putting these historical documents on DVD
to preserve the integrity of the originals.
The Bonniebrook Research Library and Rose O’Neill Archives are open
by appointment during regular hours. The following guidelines are
intended to make your experience a pleasant one, and to ensure that
we continue to meet the needs of future researchers.
PATRON RESOURCE AGREEMENT
1. Sign and complete an entry in the library guest register
including the topic of your research.
2. Only notebooks, pencils, and research papers are allowed in the
library. Materials should be supported on the tables at all times to
protect them from damage.
3. Food and drink are not allowed in the library. Smoking is not
allowed in the library or anywhere in the Maggie Fisher Centre at
Bonniebrook.
4. Staff members are available to answer any questions you may have
and to help you learn to use the finding aids. A staff member will
be present in the library at all times when the library is in use.
5. The library stacks are closed to researchers; material is
retrieved only by staff members. A maximum of 2 boxes of research
material is allowed on the table at any time.
6. Material in the Rose O’Neill Archives may not be photocopied,
traced, or reproduced in any way. Do not write on any library
materials. Do not damage the records.
7. Library materials do not circulate and are not available through
inter-library loan.
